- Salient Characteristics A. Objective: To identify sources that are qualified to meet the supplies/services as listed in section 11B. Note that the specific requirements in section B are subject to change prior to the release of any solicitation. B. The Contractor shall deliver one (1) fully functioning French Press with one (1) Mini Pressure Cell and one (1) Standard Pressure Cell in accordance with the minimum requirements of the Government stated below: The French Press shall fulfill the following minimum requirements: Shall be able to fit in a space with the dimensions of twenty-three (23) inches in width by twenty-two (22) inches in length by forty (40) inches in height. Shall be between 115 volt (V) and 130 V and between fifty (50) and sixty (60) Hertz (Hz). Shall be able to accommodate both the standard pressure cell and the mini pressure cell. Shall be able to reach between forty (40) to sixty (60) Kilopounds per Square Inch (kpsi). Shall have enhanced safety features including, but not limited to, internal safety stop, automatic hydraulic pressure release, timer to shutdown motor if left on, Emergency-stop (E-stop), easy access T-shaped handle holder, non-skid feet, secure metal ring on platen, hold-down plate across top, sound levels below eighty-five (85) decibels adjusted (dBa), no hot surfaces, and lastly, no pinch points. Shall have at least 150 grit electro polished sanitary applications. Shall have a pressure regulator valve. Shall have forced air intercooler for hydraulic fluid. Shall have Underwriters Laboratories (UL) approved individual electrical components. The press shall be operated by an electric motor. The Mini Pressure Cell shall fulfill the following minimum requirements: Shall be able to work with volumes as low as one (1.0) milliliters (mL). Shall be able to reach forty (40) kpsi. Shall contain a mini cell body with a volume of between 3.7 mL and 4.0 mL. Shall contain closure plug assembly. Shall contain a clean-out port in closure plug assembly. Filling stand and spare parts shall be included. Pressure cell shall be autoclavable. The Standard Pressure Cell shall fulfill the following minimum requirements: Shall be able to reach forty (40) kpsi. Shall be able to work with up to thirty-five (35) mL sample volume. Shall include filling stand and spare parts. Pressure cell shall be autoclavable. The French Press Warranty shall fulfill the following minimum requirements: One (1) year parts and labor warranty. This warranty does not include the O-rings, which are considered wearable parts, nor any damage caused by misuse. C. Responses: All interested parties should notify this office in writing, mail, fax, or e-mail within the posted date. Responses shall include: •(I) To what extent each of the specifications can be met. •(II) Include your type of business (i.e. commercial, academia), whether your organization is classified as a large or small business based on the 500 Employees standard that accompanies NAICS code 333249. If a small business, you must also list any small disadvantaged status you hold [HUBZone, 8(a), Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Women Owned Small Business (WOSB), Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB), etc.]. •(III) Past experience/ performance through the description of completed projects. (12) Responses to this sources sought are due no later than 11:59AM Eastern Standard Time (EST) on 20 December 2017.
