- NAVSUP Weapons Systems Support “ Mechanicsburg is seeking eligible contractors to furnish effort including labor, material, and facilities as may be required to manufacture the item specified within this document. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with limited sources under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Government intends to solicit for the procurement of : NSN 5310-01-648-5545X3 “ Nut Quantity (17) each This part requires engineering source approval by the design control activity in order to maintain the quality of the part. Existing unique design capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing knowledge by the qualified source(s) require acquisition of the part from the approved sources. The approved sources retain data rights, manufacturing knowledge, or technical data that are not economically available to the Government, and the data or knowledge is essential to maintaining the quality of the part. An alternate source must qualify in accordance with the design control activity ™s procedures, as approved by the Cognizant Government Engineering Activity. The qualification procedures must be approved by the Government engineering activity having jurisdiction over the part in the intended application. This item will be purchased on a small business set-aside basis. There is an exception to the World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement and Free Trade Agreements as this acquisition will be awarded to a small business. All responsible sources may identify their interest and provide capability statements in response to this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received within 15 days after date of publication of this sources sought notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Approval of a source is required.
