- This Request for Information Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government at this time. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Request for Information notice is to determine interest and capability of Other than Small Businesses and Small Businesses, including VIP-Verified Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) prospective contractors relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 334519 (Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing). A Quality Analyzer/Beam Checker (Sun Nuclear Corporation rf-Daily QA3) is known to meet the Government s needs. The Sun Nuclear Corporation rf-Daily QA3 is known to meet the Government s needs. The Government is requesting if there are other and/or similar Quality Analyzer/Beam Checkers that exists on Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) or the open market or scheduled contracts with the following specifications/capabilities: CLIN Item Description Qty Unit 0001 1093000-1Z rf-Daily QA3 1 EA 0002 1093000-3Z Additional Wireless Vault Package 1 EA Salient Characteristics: Quality Analyzer/Beam Checker (Sun Nuclear Corporation rf-Daily QA3 Accelerated or EQUAL) Must support rotational and flattening filter-free beams Utilize minimum of 13 ion chambers Must measure output, flatness, symmetry, field size, and energy of beam for QA System is not to require flipping or energy buildup for tests or energy types System must utilize diode detectors Vented ion chambers for measuring light radiation field coincidence System must auto-calculate and adjust for temperature and pressure corrections System should output results/measurements in real-time System should be able to produce reports in portable document formats Detector spacing between Diodes: 1-5 mm Minimum active chamber Electron size: 0.6cm cubed Minimum active chamber Photon size: 0.3cm cubed Maximum field size of detector: 20cm x 20cm Maximum inherent energy buildup for Ion chambers: 1.0 +/- 0.1 g/cm squared Inherent backscatter: 1-2.3 cm Support electron energy attenuation of air, copper, aluminum, and iron Radiation electron measurement between 4-25 MeV Radiation photon measurements between Co-60 to 25 MV Support USB power-data interface Software platform must be compatible with Windows 7 Software platform should allow user to sort data by parameters/time and have graphical presentation Detector maximum dimensions: 30cm L x 45cm W x 10cm H Detector maximum weight: 7 kg Interested Other Than Small Businesses and Small Businesses including VIP-Verified VOSBs and SDVOSBs are required to submit an e-mail delineating: Qualifications, capabilities, and experience for providing this product; Business size/Socioeconomic status; If the product is on the Federal Supply Schedule or the Open Market; and Memo or correspondence which authorizes distributor to distribute the manufacturer s products. This is not a Request for Proposal or an announcement of a solicitation and no solicitation package exists at this time. Your responses will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submissions will not be returned to the sender. VOSBs and SDVOSBs must be registered and verified in VIP for set-aside consideration. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 334519 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. Responses due are to be submitted by e-mail to Jim Hedman at james.hedman2@va.gov. The information requested must be received no later than 09:00 a.m. Central Daylight Time on Monday, December 26th, 2017.
