- Description
- RE: 36C26118Q0200, Amendment A00006 The requirements of the procurement have been re-evaluated, and the following salient characteristics are added to the solicitation: The desks where the sit-stand desktops will be used are long, and there are locked storage bins above that run along the entire length of the desks. It is the policy of the Department of Veterans Affairs that some items, such as purses, be locked up while at the facility. The grommet is in the back corner of the desk, under the storage bins. Because space is limited, and the locked storage bins need to stay in place, and the grommet is in the back corner of the desk, the sit-stand desktops must fit under the locked storage bins when in the sitting position, and must be able to be extended out past the locked storage bins and up for the standing position. The distance between the top of the desks and the bottom of the locked storage bins is 19 ¾ inches in height. The depth from the desk grommet to the outer edge of the locked storage bin is 14 inches. The monitor towers must be able to swivel so that the monitors can be positioned as needed by the user to accommodate the optimal and most comfortable viewing of the monitors by the user. The ability to adjust the height, tilt, and rotation is needed so that the sit-stand desk units may be pulled out and up from the corner of the desk where the grommet is located and adjusted according to the optimal and most comfortable viewing angle of the user. Sit-stand desktops must incorporate a hydraulic, gas, or some other mechanical method to assist with lifting and lowering the sit-stand desk to reduce chances of physical strain and for the comfort of the user.
