- Sources Sought Ultra Violet (UV) Disinfection Systems NAICS Code: 339112 Notice Type: Sources Sought This is a Request for Information (RFI) only; it is not a request for quotations or offers. 52.215-3 -- Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (Oct 1997) (a) The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation or to otherwise pay for the information solicited except as an allowable cost under other contracts as provided in subsection 31.205-18, Bid and proposal costs, of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. (b) Although proposal and offeror are used in this Request for Information, your response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. (c) This solicitation is issued for the purpose of: conducting market research to identify potential sources for a potential procurement of 10 each UV Disinfections Systems at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System located in Minneapolis, MN. Specifications The Minneapolis VA Healthcare System (MVAHCS) has a continued need for UV disinfection devices at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center located at One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417. The MVAHCS currently has UV devices which continue to help reduce Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) s in patients, but these devices are past their life expectancy. To continue our goal of Zero HAI s in patients, we are requesting 10 each UV disinfection devices. MVAHCS has a continued need for UV germ-zapping sanitation robots. The bulbs in these devices need to put out a minimum of 254-nm to effectively disinfect. The device needs to have an automated shut off. If someone enters the room while the device is on, there must be in place a power shutdown of some kind. The device must provide a 4-log reduction in C. Difficile spores in 10 minutes at 8 feet The device must provide greater than 5-log reduction of MRSA, E.Coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, VRE, norovirus, in 10 minutes at 8 feet. The device must be able to upload the data via wireless wifi, to be loaded into a dashboard for viewing The device should be lightweight (maximum weight 20 pounds), easy to use, and include casters for ease of movement throughout the hospital, with locking wheels. On-site technicians will be required for installation, and to train staff on proper use of the machines for a minimum of 2 days. This is a request for information and sources only, which may or may not lead to a future solicitation. This is not a request for proposal (RFP). The VA will not pay for any information received resulting from this sources sought notice. Information should be forwarded to the Contract Specialist.
