- Description
- This Request for Information (RFI) is solely for informational market research, in order to determine the availability of potential sources who can provide the following. USGS OAG Sacramento, CA, is seeking sources that can provide rental of a complete bathymetric mapping kit to be mounted aboard a 19 foot long USGS open boat for complete mapping of the shoreline and sub-aqueous portions of San Antonio reservoir. Data products to include geo-located terrestrial lidar, bathymetry soundings, multibeam side-scan and snippets. The survey system should be sufficiently small enough to mount aboard a small boat with minimal cabling and be battery operable. It should be a curved array so that sonar head rotations are not required to map shoreline. The resulting bathymetric data shall be acquired from -10m to +40m water depth and adhere to IHO specifications where 'a' coefficient is 0.10m and 'b' coefficient is 0.007m with full seafloor search and feature detection of 25cm. Multibeam sonar sensor positioning to 2cm horizontal and 3 cm vertical is required. Mobilization duration aboard the vessel to not exceed 3 hours. The following combination of equipment is suited for both general requirements as well as for ongoing research and data useability: Norbit iWBMSh with 1deg Tx (400kHz) - provides high resolution 0.9 x 0.95 degree beams at 400kHz and tightly integrated Applanix OceanMaster INS which is ideal for areas in the reservoir with satellite signal blockages; sound speed profiler including interchangable sensor head; integrated Norbit terrestrial LiDAR scanner; Seahorse Go-kit including adaptable mounting kit for USGS vessel; Hypack/Hysweep data acquisition & processing software; Applanix POS MMS software of PPK processing; rugged IP65 tablet or laptop; on-site (the boat during data collection) senior engineer to ensure correct setup and to provide operator training to complete the project. Seahorse Geomatics is known to meet company to meet the requirements of 1) a lightweight and portable system that can be easily mounted on a USGS vessel, 2) a fully integrated lidar scanner for surveying the shoreline of the reservoir, and 3) technical assistance in the field for operating the system (on the boat and participate in the collection of the data, providing training to USGS personnel in the process). The intent of this notice is to determine if any other source(s) exist. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the Government. Responses must include (1) Organization name, address, email address, and size and type of ownership, and (2) Complete description of equipment capabilities and contain sufficient technical information to allow agency analysis to establish bona fide capabilities. This is not a request for quotation, and the Government does not intend to pay for information received. All questions and submissions in response to this notice must be submitted electronically via email to Nik Lushenko, nlushenko@usgs.gov by 1700 ET on January 11, 2018. Capability statements shall only be accepted through electronic mail addressed to nlushenko@usgs.gov. All statement documents required by this notice must be uploaded and received in their entirety no later than January 11, 2018 at 1700 ET. Statements submitted by hardcopy or the Fed Connect web portal or Fed Connect Message Center shall not be accepted or considered.
