- This is a MARKET SURVEY / SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE, pursuant to FAR Part 10 (Market Research), FAR Part 6.302-1 and HSAM 3006.302-1. This is not a pre-solicitation notice or solicitation for proposals/quotations. REQUIREMENT: The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC), Procurement Division (PRO), Bio-Containment Branch has a requirement under a current contract (HSFLBP-09-C-00001) for the National Bio-Agro Defense Facility (NBAF) of plenum boxes and switches. DHS is currently under contract for the construction of the NBAF project and will provide any and all information submitted on the plenum boxes or the switches that are manufactured in the United States in accordance with FAR 52.225-11 and FAR 25.202(a)(2) to the current construction contractor to meet the Buy American Act regulations. Any American made product submissions will be forwarded to the prime contractor for the potential of being purchased for the project. It is estimated there are 4,500 boxes to be purchased and 20 switches. This Sources Sought is being issued to obtain information on the availability of American made products that meet the specifications for the products below. Outlet Boxes: A. Sheet metal outlet boxes: NEMA OS 1, UL 514A; galvanized steel with stamped knockouts. 1. Luminaire and equipment supporting boxes: Rated for weight of equipment supported; ½' male fixture studs, where required. 2. Concrete Ceiling boxes: Concrete type. B. Sheet Metal Plenum Type Outlet Boxes: Galvanized steel with air tight knockouts. C. Cast-Metal Outlet Boxes: NEMA FB1, ferrous alloy, Type FD, with gasketed cover and threaded hubs. D. Nonmetallic Outlet Boxes: NEMA OS 2. E. Gangable type boxes are not allowed F. Potential Manufacturers: O-Z/Gedney; Raco; Cooper Crouse-Hinds. G. The products required for the project are as follows: 4-11/16" box square plenum boxes with ¾ Knockouts (KO's), 1" KO's, and 1-1/4" KO's. Switches: A. 20A, 120-277V AC B. Listings UL Listed CSA Certified Fed. Spec. W-S-896 C. Performance Electrical Dielectric Voltage Withstands 1500V AC minimum for 1 minute Max. Continuous Current 20A Max. Working Voltage 277V AC Overload Minimum 4.8 times rated current for 100 cycles Temperature Rise 30°C maximum at rated current D. Mechanical Terminal Accommodations #14 AWG min. - #10 AWG max. Solid and stranded Copper wire only E. Environmental Flammability UL 94V-2 Operating Temperature Max. continuous: 75°C; Min. continuous: -40°C without impact E. Specifications Top Material Thermoset Base Material Thermoset, Red Key Guide Metallic, Black, White, and Gray Or Toggle Material Nylon (Red and Gray) Contacts Silver Alloy Terminal Screws Brass Ground Screw Brass (Green) F. Manufacturers Hubbell, 20A, 120-277V AC (UPC 783585431468, 783585188584, 783585188577, 783585432847, and 783585432885 or equivalent product made in the United States.
