- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT Notice for market research purposes only in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10 for the upcoming acquisition for the United States Air Force Academy. DO NOT submit a quote or proposal in response to this synopsis. The Commodities and Services Flight, 10th Contracting Squadron (10 CONS/PKB), USAF Academy (USAFA), Colorado, seeks information concerning firms interested, to include small business socioeconomic categories, in providing one (1) Gigabot XLT 3D Printer or Equal Product. The 3D printer must meet or exceed the following salient characteristics: •· Heated Bed (Up to 100 degrees Celsius) •· Adhesive Print Surface •· Wheeled Platform •· Control panel for computer-free 3D printing •· 4GB SD Card to transfer printing files to printer •· At least 23.2 x 30 x 36 inch build volume •· 0.004-0.012 inch layer resolution •· Bot Dimensions within the approximate range of 34 X 48 X 64 inches to 44 X 58 X 74 inches •· 0.4mm nozzle diameter •· NEMA 17 | 72 oz-in | 1.68 A | 1.8° step angle stepper motors •· 110V powered •· 2.5 microns Z precision, 4 microns XY precision •· Material compatibility: PLA, ABS, thermoplastics melting below 350°C 10-25°C ambient temp •· Operating Temp: hot-end 350°C max | bed-temp 100°C max This Sources Sought notice shall not be construed as a formal solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the 10 CONS/PKB to acquire any products or services. Information provided to the 10 CONS/PKB in response to this posting is strictly voluntary and given with no expectation of compensation, and clearly provided at no cost to the Government. A formal solicitation may be executed and posted separately on Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov) at a future date. The 10 CONS/PKB is interested only in identifying interested and capable contractors for this product and receiving industry feedback to improve the acquisition process as part of market research. This sources sought notice is issued for determining if there are responsive small business concerns capable of meeting the requirement. Interested vendors must reference their 8(a), HUB Zone, Women-owned, or Service Disabled Veteran status. The planned North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 333249 - Other Industrial Machinery Manufacturing. The small business size standard is 500 employees. Contractors are asked to comment on the acceptability of the NAICS code selected. If they believe a different NAICS code is more appropriate, please identify what NAICS code may be appropriate. Small Business (SB) Set-Aside Determination: The 10 CONS/PKB reserves the right to determine if a SB set-aside is appropriate including specific socio-economic programs (HUB Zone, Small Business Administration (SBA) subcontractors referred to as "8(a)" contractors eligible under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act (15 USC 637(a)), or SDVO small businesses based on responses to this notice and other pertinent information gathered by the contracting officer. The proposed contract is anticipated to be a firm fixed price purchase order. The 3D Printer will come with the industry standard manufacturer's warranty. All components will be new and not refurbished. The Buy American and Balance of Payments Program at DFARS 252.225-7001 applies to this planned acquisition. Delivery is FOB Destination to USAF Academy, Colorado, 80840. Where is the product manufactured? Estimated cost for the product. You will not be held to this price; it is for market research purposes only.
