Description

SYNOPSIS This is a SOURCES SOUGHT announcement only. The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting a MARKET SURVEY to obtain information from all qualified businesses, with special interest in seeking: Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), and Small Business Concerns. Your responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. No solicitation is being issued at this time, however the VA is anticipating issuing a solicitation on or about April 2018 resulting in a competitive single-award five-year contract to be awarded on or about June 2018. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any incurred in developing information provided to the Government. DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUIREMEMT The Atlanta VA Medical Center (AVAMC) located at 1670 Clairmont Road, Decatur Georgia anticipates a requirement for a company to provide Physician Nursing Services at the Atlanta VAMC as well as Community Based Outpatient Centers. The estimated monthly number of labor hours is between 2,500 and 3,000 hours per month. Contractor must provide Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Nursing Assistants (NAs). All contract nursing staff must hold a current, unrestricted licensure/certification as well as a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Position: RN a. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for a specific patient or group of patients with attention to their physical and psychosocial needs. Assesses and reports changes in the patient s condition. b. Provides emergency care as indicated c. Ensure continuity of care by: (1) collaboration with coworkers (2) reviewing pertinent patient information (3) conducting nursing rounds and conferences (4) updating nursing care plans d. Documents nursing care according to service standards e. Performs treatments and procedures consistent with approved standards and the needs of the individual patients in an organized and timely manner f. Fosters a holistic approach to patient care through collaboration with other members of the health care team g. Demonstrates respect for the patient and family while administering nursing care and maintaining confidentiality of patient information h. Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment i. Participates in education of ancillary staff by sharing knowledge during the course of leading a nursing care team Position: LPN/NA 1. Assists the RN who assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for groups of patients with attention to the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs. Observes and reports changes in the patient s condition to the RN b. Supervision of work is provided by the RN, as deemed necessary c. Provides emergency care as indicated d. Ensure continuity of care by: (1) collaboration with coworkers (2) reviewing pertinent patient information (3) participating in nursing rounds, conferences and team meetings (4) participating in updating the RN e. Documents nursing care according to Atlanta VAMC policy and standards f. Performs treatments and procedures consistently with approved standards and the needs of the individual patients in an organized and timely manner g. Fosters a holistic approach to patient care through collaboration with others, participating with multi-disciplinary members of the health care team h. Demonstrates respect for the patient and family while administering nursing care and maintaining confidentiality of patient information i.
