Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The scope of this project consist of complete preparation of the site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for the installation of a new generator, fuel tank, transformer, and medium voltage switchgear. A complete set of specifications and drawings will be provided in the forthcoming solicitation. This project will consolidate and complete the emergency backup generator system for the Medical Center, supplementing the work performed under previous projects. The result of the project will be the ability to generate 100% emergency power for the campus should the main Georgia Power electrical feed go down. It will also correct a number of FCA deficiencies related to the transformers and primary and secondary distribution systems. SET-ASIDE INFORMATION: This solicitation will be issued pursuant to the authority under Public Law 109-461 (38 U.S.C. 8127) and is a 100% Set-Aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). The SDVOSB must be a small business under the relevant North American Industrial Classification Standard (NAICS) code and MUST be registered and verifiable at http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov and www.sam.gov to be eligible for award. Offerors MUST ensure registration in these websites are accurate, complete and have not expired prior to proposal due date. NAICS CODE: The NAICS code assigned to this construction project is 236220 with a Small Business Size Standard of $36.5M. MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION: Between $2,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00 SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS: The tentative date for posting the solicitation documents to www.fbo.gov is on or about February 2nd, 2018, with proposals due approximately 30 days later. These are only tentative dates. The solicitation will have specific dates, times, and locations for a site visit and proposal submissions. This requirement is anticipated to result in a firm-fixed-price contract. Dissemination of the solicitation, specifications and drawings is limited to electronic medium only. Interested contractors should watch for the issuance of the solicitation and for notifications of updates by registering at www.fbo.gov. An Offeror's mailing list WILL NOT be prepared nor distributed by the Contracting Officer. SOLICITATION AMENDMENTS: Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at www.fbo.gov. Paper copies of amendments will NOT be issued. By registering to "Watch This Opportunity", Offerors will be notified by e-mail of any new amendments that have been issued and posted. No other notification of amendments will be provided. Offerors are reminded that they are responsible for obtaining and acknowledging all amendments to the solicitation prior to the time for receipt of offers in accordance with FAR 52.215-1 [Instruction to Offerors Competitive Acquisition], Paragraph (b) [Amendments to solicitations]. ***This is not the Request for Proposal (RFP).
