The GORDON GUNTER is 224 feet long overall, and its home port is Pascagoula, MS. Provide all labor, material, and equipment necessary to perform the following (including, but not limited to): BASE ITEMS: Marine Sanitation Device Overhaul; HVAC System Cleaning; Bridge Window Replacement; Chemistry Lab Sink Replacement; Food Storage Shelving Modification; Interior Deck Renewals; Shower Stall Repairs; Deck Crane Overhaul; J-Frame Overhaul; Exhaust Stack Steel Replacement; Annual Fire Inspection; Annual Life Raft Inspection; Vent Trunk Renewal; Fire-Tight Door Magnetic Holdback Installation; Weight Tests of Lifting Gear; and Annual Miranda Davit Inspection. OPTION ITEMS: Weatherdeck and Bridge Deck - blast/Coat/Non-Skid; Emergency Generator Battery Bank Installation; Bridge Wing Cover Replacement; Weathertight Door Replacement; Fiberglass Deck Grating Replacement The solicitation will include a liquidated damages clause. The performance period will be approximately 31 calendar days, with a start date on or about March 21, 2018 and a completion date on or about April 20, 2018. Place of performance shall be the ship's homeport in Pascagoula, MS. The date, time and place for an inspection of the ship is January 23, 2018, 9:00 a.m. (local time) at Pier 21, 2100 Harborside Drive, Galveston, TX 77550. Appointments and arrangements for attending the ship inspection can be made by contacting the Port Engineer, Mr. Tim Langdon, on or before noon on January 19, 2018 at (228) 769-1155 or mobile (202) 577-3914 or by Email at Tim.Langdon@noaa.gov. Contact information for personnel attending the ship inspection must be provided to the Port Engineer. The acquisition will be issued as a Request for Proposals (RFP) in accordance with FAR Part 15. The RFP will be issued on January 16, 2018 with proposals due on or about February 15, 2018. The anticipated award date is February 22, 2018. This procurement is unrestricted; all responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The Government anticipates awarding a firm fixed price contract to the contractor whose proposal represents the best value considering price and non-price related factors. The RFP will be issued via electronic posting on the Federal Business Opportunity (FBO) web page www.fbo.gov. Hard copies of the RFP will not be issued. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor FBO for the release of the RFP, specifications, drawings and all subsequent amendments. The specification will be uploaded to www.fbo.gov with the RFP. Prospective offerors who are interested in submitting a proposal for this acquisition are encouraged to register with the FedBizOpps Vendor Notification Service and to be on the Interested Vendors List for this acquisition (see applicable tab within FBO where this synopsis is posted).
