Description
FY 19 Intense Cold Weather Glove Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), Portfolio Manager (PfM), Ground Combat Element Systems (GCES), Program Manager (PM) Infantry Combat Equipment (ICE) seeks information regarding industry's capability to manufacture a Berry Amendment compliant Contact Glove that can be worn as a standalone item as well as be compatible with other Marine Corps hand wear. Hand wear items include the USMC's Intermediate Cold Weather Glove (ICWG), NSN 8415-01-640-8192, and the Leather Light Duty Glove, NSN 8415-01-623-9603. Desired requirements are as follows: •· Ability to be worn alone or with a shell •· Non-melt/non-drip properties •· Good manual dexterity/tactility and grip •· Touch screen capability •· Form fit •· Water repellency •· Fast dry •· Durability for light utility work to handle and manipulate smooth and rough objects •· Protection from hands freezing to metal •· Protection from hot objects The Marine Corps will use the results of this announcement to determine what capabilities currently exist in the marketplace that meet the Government's requirements outlined above. If testing supports adoption of the Contact Glove, it would be issued from the USMC Individual Issue Facility (IIF). Basis of issue (BOI) will be 1 pair per Marine. USMC procurement quantity (AAO) will be 40,000. Sustainment quantities will be established.
