Description
Request for Information - U.S Forest Service, Redmond Air Center, Regional Aviation Group to identify existing Personal Fall Arrest Systems for an Airplane Hangar/Maintenance Building (1204H118RFI0001) Synopsis This is a Request for Information (RFI) and invitation to visit the site regarding a potential Fall Arrest/Personal Restraint System acquisition requirement for the U.S. Forest Service, Redmond Air Center, Regional Aviation Group (RAG), in Redmond, Oregon. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION OR AN ANNOUNCEMENT OF A FORTHCOMING SOLICITATION. RAG is not seeking proposals/offers at this time, and will not accept unsolicited proposals/offers. Responses to this Notice are voluntary, nor offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Proprietary information is not being requested, and respondents shall refrain from providing proprietary information in response to this RFI. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned. No solicitation document exists at this time, and calls requesting a solicitation will not be answered. The Government will not provide reimbursement for any information that may or may not be submitted, or for and administrative cost(s) incurred by respondents in response to this RFI or site visit. Respondents are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI and/or site visit. Furthermore, responding to this RFI or visiting the site will neither increase or decrease a respondent's likelihood of being awarded any contract in the future for the requisite goods and/or services. This request for info shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation nor does it restrict the Government from any acquisition action. It is the responsibility of the interested parties to monitor www.fbo.gov for additional information pertaining to the RFI. Disclaimer Reference herein to any specific commercial company, product, process, or service by trade name, trademark, manufacturer, or otherwise, does not necessarily constitute or imply its endorsement, recommendation, or favoring by the US Government or the U.S. Forest Service. Objective The purpose of this RFI and site visit is obtain information concerning available Fall Arrest/Personal Restraint System solutions that are available non-developmental, commercially available and compatible with the hangar being used. The system will be used by mechanics while working on the top of aircraft, 11ft above the floor. Various systems to provide information on may be: • Overhead Fixed Track Lines • Suspended Monorail • Horizontal Lifeline Systems should have (if overhead system): 1. Tie-off point located directly (or at least nearly directly) overhead 2. A self-retracting lifeline (SRL) should be utilized 3. Overhead lifeline system with minimal sag The hanger specifications are as follows: • Garco Building Systems, MIDCO MFG., INC. • Frame Type: TRF • Roof Slope: 1:12 • Roof Type: Gable • Enclosure Class: Un/Enclosed • Bay Size: Varies • # of Bays: 8 • Nominal Width: 160' ½" • Length: 134' 5-1/2" • Eave Height: 25'-0" Site Visit A site visit is scheduled for February 20, 2017, 10:00 a.m., at the U.S. Redmond Air Center, 1740 SE Ochoco Way, Redmond, OR 97756. The Redmond Air Center is a secure government facility and all interested parties will need to check-in through the Administration Office first before being admitted to the Regional Aviation Group office/hanger. Please allow time to for this process. Response Responses should include literature about the offered product. All information should be that that is available to the general public. Interested parties should submit all responses to this RFI no later than 4:30 PM Pacific Standard Time on March 9, 2018. Questions and Responses shall be sent via email to ktoombs@fs.fed.us. All submission will be accepted and receipt will be acknowledged. The Government may request additional information on specific submissions.
