- Sources Sought Notice Curation Services Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF SOLICITATION ISSUANCE, BUT A SOURCES SOUGHT that will allow the Government to identify interested sources capable of meeting the requirement. The information sought herein is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Quotation (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP), Invitation for Bid (IFB), or as an obligation or commitment on the part of the Government to acquire any product or service. There shall be no basis for claims against the Government as a result of information submitted in response to the Sources Sought. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Sources Sought, or otherwise pay for any information submitted by respondents to this request. This notice is for market research purposes only and is not indicative of a full requirement. Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL), New Jersey is interested in identifing potential sources to provide curation services for artifacts and associated documents resulting from archaeological surveys in a manner consistent with 36 C.F.R. 79 Curation of Federally Owned and Administered Archaeological Collections. The collections from JB MDL are estimated at 45 archival storage boxes including artifacts and associated records. It is estimated that the collection will increase at a rate of 10 archival boxes per year as new archaeological projects are conducted at JB MDL. The collections also contain approximately 30 cubic feet of oversized items. The estimated period of performance is one base year and four option years. Services required include: •1. Storage of the collection within proximity to JB MDL in a manner accessible to potential researchers, in a secure and temperature controlled building, supervised by curatorial staff. Facilities located within in the northeastern United States are preferred •2. Inventory, accessing, labeling and cataloging the collection. •3. Identifying, evaluating, and documenting the collection. •4. Periodically inspecting the collection and taking such actions as may be necessary to preserve it. •5. Providing access and facilitating the study of the collection. •6. Handling, cleaning, stabilizing and conserving a collection in such a manner to preserve it.
