Description
DRAWINGS: Forebay Dredge System Modifications - Washington Aqueduct Division, Washington, DC SPECIFICATIONS: Forebay Dredge System Modifications - Washington Aqueduct Division, Washington, DC SOLICITATION: Forebay Dredge System Modifications - Washington Aqueduct Division, Washington, DC The Washington Aqueduct provides portable water to approximately one million people in the District of Columbia and Northern Virginia. WA maintains and operates the Dalecarlia and McMillan Water Treatment Plants (WTPs). Raw water is diverted from the Potomac River to the Dalecarlia Reservoir from where it is distributed to the Dalecarlia WTP and via the Georgetown Reservoir to the McMillan WTP. The Washington Aqueduct via its treatment process removes sediment and other solids from the Potomac River source water. These solids are collected and conveyed to the Residuals Processing Facility, where they are gravity thickened and dewatered for disposal. The material contains a large amount of organic and other debris which have the potential to cause the equipment used to collect and process the residual solids to malfunction. The main focus of the project is to install mechanical grinders to aid in the processing of river sediment and to install an odor control system to better handle odor issues associated the residuals treatment process. The project consists of providing all necessary electrical, mechanical, and related structural work to install up to five inline 25 Hp mechanical grinders, a pumping station wet well mixing pump and modifications to and commissioning of an electrically power floating cable dredge. The project also includes the installation of an activated carbon bed, odor control scrubber system, including all ductwork, structural modifications, hoisting, and blower details. There is also minor work related to the installation of roof drains, roof membrane, and concrete repairs to the structure. A pre bid site visit will be held at 1000 hrs. on January 25, 2017 at the Forebay Entrance Gate to the Dalecarlia Reservoir (coords. 38.941801, -77.113218) located at 6903 MacArthur Blvd., Bethesda, MD 20816. Individuals interested in attending the site visit MUST submit their Name, Company Name, Date of Birth, Driver's License Number and issuing State to Nathan Cole by email (nathan.h.cole@usace.army.mil) no later than 2:00 p.m. on the business day before the site visit in order to be admitted to the site. Upon arriving for the site visit, individuals will be required to show their Driver's License. Individuals who do not have a driver's license will need to submit the information from a government issued ID (State or Federal) and be prepared to show that ID upon arrival. Prospective bidders/offerors must submit RFI inquiries relating to this solicitation NO LATER THAN 06 February 2018 at 10:00 AM EST to both Contract Specialist, Patricia Morrow: Email: patricia.l.morrow@usace.army.mil and Contracting Officer, Ashley Wingfield: Email: Ashley.Williams@usace.army.mil.
