Description
Solicitation W912DR-18-B-0001 Poplar Island Electrical Work Upgrade The electrical system on Poplar Island ranges from two to Fourteen years old. The original intent was to serve a maintenance building and an operations building. Neither the operations or maintenance building were built, however a series of trailers were installed in the place of the operations building and a pre-fabricated metal building was built in place of the maintenance building. The electrical system was designed to provide additional power for other miscellaneous items like pumps, compressors and a fuel farm. All of the medium voltage cables have a 25 KV rating. The system is currently backed up by two diesel powered generators which service the pre-fabricated buildings, trailers, well and fuel farm. Enclosed is a one-line diagram illustrating the entire electrical system. The existing 125kW, 480V generator G2 provides limited standby power to storage shed, well house and IT equipment room panel board DP2C as shown on sheet EP600. The existing generator is not capable of providing power to all the areas required therefore we are adding a new generator to assist in the back-up power requirements. The Government intends to award a Design-Build Firm-Fixed-Price contract to provide backup power to MES building 2. The existing connection from ATS2 is modified as shown on the one-line diagram. Disconnect primary connection of transformer DT2-1 from SWT2-1 and re-connect to secondary of transformer T2 as shown on sheet E600. Remove DC2A 200A Fuse Disconnect from the secondary of Transformer DT2-1. The SWT2-1 & DC2A shall be removed from the Island. Disconnect cables of Panel DP2C from 400 A Panel DP2-1 and connect to 400A Panel DP2-2. Contractor will be responsible for all costs of material, labor, transportation, etc. to complete the requirement. The duration of this project is 300 calendar days.
