Description
NON-COMPETITIVE SYNOPSIS ***PLEASE CONTACT HAROLD SMITH/ARCS WITH ANY TECHNICAL QUESTIONS OR TO SUBMIT CAPABILITIES TO HAROLD.SMITH-1@NASA.GOV *** NASA/MSFC has a requirement for the purchase of a Magma Expansion Chassis to support the Integrated Avionics Test Facility throughout Marshall Space Flight Center in support of ES53 Lab. NASA/MSFC intends to purchase this maintenance on a Sole Source Basis to Magma. These Magma Chassis will support the Space Launch System (SLS) avionics system testing and development within the Integrated Avionics Test Facilities (IATF) labs which includes the System Integrated Labs (SIL), the Software Development Facilities (SDF) and the System Integrated Test Facilities (SITF). Theses labs perform the integration and testing of the avionics systems and flight software for the new launch vehicles. The Magma brand expansion systems supports a minimum of 16 PCI Express 2.0 compatibility slots simultaneously. They have a reliable system startup and card compatibility with the various input/output cards currently utilized in the IATF labs. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 01/29/2018 by 12:00 p.m. CST. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
