- PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE NOTICE CAREFULLY AS IT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY NOTICE THAT WILL BE ISSUED. This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 - Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-96. Request For Quotation (RFQ) number is N66604-18-Q-0920. This procurement is unrestricted as concurred with by the NUWCDIVNPT Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP). The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this acquisition is 334515. The Small Business Size Standard is 750 employees. The Product Service Code (PSC) is 5845. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport intends to issue a Firm-Fixed Price contract to Wood Hole Oceanographic Institution, Woods Hole, MA for an Acoustic Modem Communications System (ACOMMS) consisting of: (1) Transducer Towfish for ITC-3013, P/N 224072; one (1) each (2) Console Cable Pelican Deck Gear (15 ft), P/N 232034; one (1) each (3) Cable Transducer LPMIL-3-MP to FS on 10kV, P/N 234062; one (1) each (4) Micromodem 2 Single-RX PSK Xducer, P/N 250035-3901; one (1) each (5) Housing Pelican Deck Gear Kit, P/N 258060; one (1) each (6) Transducer Geospectrum Oil Filled 10kHz Hemispherical, P/N M27-390-PT, two (2) each. The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution's ACOMMS is the only system that meets the minimum requirements and is the system currently being used to interface with the existing vehicle control computers. It is essential that the ACOMMS is compatible with the hardware and software currently being used. See attached Sole Source Justification F.O.B. Destination Naval Station Newport; Newport, RI.
