Description
This is a notice to announce the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) intends to award a sole source contract in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 entitled, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements to Eaton Corporation. The VA, Office of Information and Technology (OI&T), Service Delivery and Engineering (SDE), Enterprise Operations (EO), Data Center Operations, requires corrective and preventative maintenance for brand name Eaton Corporation components located at the Austin Information Technology Center (AITC) facility at 1615 Woodward Street, Austin, Texas 78741. The instant modification is to increase quantities for the following items that need maintenance coverage: two 150-300 KVA PDUs (part # M10212PP1B000X1) and four 30-300 RPPs (part # CRPP262403-001). Additionally, standby support services to operate and monitor the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system during emergencies that cause service disruptions are required. The period of performance shall coincide with the remaining option periods on the contract; Option Period Two, from February 4, 2018 through February 3, 2019; and Option Period Three from February 4, 2019 through February 3, 2020. Eaton Corporation confirmed via a letter to the Government dated November 30, 2015, and reconfirmed via email on December 5, 2017, that it does not train, certify or support independent third party service providers to deliver or service any of the Eaton UPS and power quality products located at the AITC facility. Additionally, no other service provider is authorized to possess Eaton proprietary (copyrighted) software, repair documentation, processes or materials.
