- Description
- This is not a Request for Prototype Proposal (RPP) and/or Task Request (TR), but for planning purposes only. A project award will not be awarded from this announcement. The Government intends to announce a Request for Prototype Proposal for execution of project award(s) in support of Aviation Initiative related research areas. The purpose of this announcement is to provide members of the Vertical Lift Consortium, and industry in general, advanced notification of Government's intent. As a result of the Vertical Lift Initiative Industry Day in May 2009, one (1) consortium formed, the Vertical Lift Consortium (VLC). It is the intent of the Government to make award(s) to Vertical Lift Consortium member(s) as a result of RPP 04. The anticipated effort is entitled: Fixed Wing Utility Aircraft (FUA) Prototype Flight Demonstration: FUA seeks to integrate a Fixed Wing Utility Aircraft Mission Equipment Package (MEP) onto a Commercial Derivative Aircraft (CDA) platform and demonstrate a flying prototype that meets mission system requirements. The Government will select viable vendors to enter the prototype demonstration phase. The FUA Prototype will be leveraged to evaluate/demonstrate technical requirements, production feasibility, and military application. The Request for Project Proposals (W15QKN-16-9-1001-RPP04) will be issued to the Vertical Lift Consortium's Administrative Agent, Advanced Technology International (ATI), who will then issue the request to the Consortium. For information on the Vertical Lift Consortium and / or how to become a member, visit http://www.verticalliftconsortium.org.
