Description

Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) seeks to gather information about industry capabilities to migrate a core accounting system from a Unisys mainframe platform running COBOL 74 to an alternate platform that can be hosted in a Defense Information System Agency (DISA) environment. The targeted application software needs to be a sustainable programming language. Two known examples are COBOL and Java but the RFI is not restricted to those two languages. As needed, the migration solution may also include the introduction of a relational database. The purpose behind this migration is to reduce current and future hosting costs.
