- NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Services, Siemens MRI Maintenance THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS OR PROPOSALS. The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), VISN 8 Network Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract for the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center (CWBYVAMC), 10,000 Bay Pines Blvd, Bay Pines, Florida 33744. This proposed contract action is to procure software updates and support, preventative maintenance, emergency maintenance, and all repair parts for the following equipment and software: Siemens MAGNETOM Espree (2) Siemens MR Chillers, Model KCC/KSC 215-3SBT (2) Siemens MR Chillers, Model KCC/KSC 215-2K Siemens MAGNETOM Skyra Siemens Syngo MM Workplace Software Classification Code: J069 NAICS: 811219 Period of Performance: April 1, 2018 through March 31, 2019, with four, one-year options. The Government intends to award a fixed-price contract to Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. (DBA: Nuclear Systems Group), 40 Liberty Blvd, Malvern, PA, 19355 utilizing the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support Medical Supply Chain s IDIQ SPE2D1-17-D-0023 with Siemens under the authority Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 16.505(b)(2)(i)(B), only one awardee is capable of providing the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because the supplies or services ordered are unique or highly specialized. The Contracting Officer has determined that the circumstances of the contract action deem that only one source is capable of providing the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because the supplies or services are unique or highly specialized. A determination not to compete this proposed contract is based on market research and is solely within the discretion of the government. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. Any interested party that believes they can fulfill this requirement should submit a capability statement to be reviewed. Any responses received by February 14, 2018, 8:00 AM Eastern will be considered by the Government. If the VA does not receive an acceptable response to this announcement by the afore mentioned date efforts to obtain these services will be continued with Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. A fixed price task order will be issued without any additional notices being posted. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No cost to the government will arise as a result of contractor submissions of responses to this announcement or the government use of such information. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competitively sensitive information contained in their response. No sub-contracting opportunity is anticipated.
