Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division is looking to procure of 20 reels of 1-7/16" diameter Wire Rope, P/N: A92791-38-3000 for the NAVAIR Prototype Manufacture Division (PMD). This 1-7/16" Wire Rope is used in the manufacture of Cross Deck Pendants (CDPs) for aircraft arrestments by the United States Navy. This is a Critical Safety Item (CSI) and requires dynamic fatigue testing in the Arresting Gear System at the Jet Car site before the wire can be used in the production of the CDP. This will be a limited source procurement amongst the following approved sources: WireCo World Group Inc., Canadian Commercial Corporation/Wire Rope Industries Ltd. and Wirerope Works, Inc. The Government owns the technical drawings, specifications, and data rights for the 1-7/16" diameter Wire Rope (P/N A92791-38-3000), however these two companies are the only approved sources for this Critical Safety Item. Unless stated herein, no additional information is available. A determination by the Government, not to open the requirement to competition based upon the response to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responses are due within 15 days of this notice. GENERAL INFORMATION: There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, make an award or awards, or be responsible for any money expended by interested parties before award of a contract for the effort described above. Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit or award a contract.
