- SOFAST-E Justification and Approval (R) NOTICE TYPE: Justification and Approval (J&A) Title: Special Forces Aviation Systems Trainer-Enhancement (SOFAST-E) Classification Code: 69 -- Training aids & devices NAICS Code: 333318 Other Commercial and Service Industry Machinery Manufacturing Is this a Recovery and Reinvestment Act Action? No Contract Award Date: Feb 7, 2018 Contract Award Number: W900KK-13-D-0003-P00002 Description: The U.S. Army Contracting Command-Orlando (ACC-Orlando), through U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation, issued a sole-source modification to Veraxx Engineering Corporation under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 (a)(2)(iii). Veraxx will provide engineering and technical management services to design and implement mandated Risk Management Framework (RMF) guidelines across all of the Combat Mission Simulator platforms at the 160th SOAR(A). This is necessary to enable a distributed (and secure) simulation capability. Under this JA, the contractor is required to provide critical updates for the Light Assault/Attack Reconfigurable (LASAR) A/MH-6M CMS, both of the MH-60 CMSs, and both of the MH-47 CMSs to include significant RMF related upgrades. Due to uncertainties in the technical nature of RMF related efforts, a base ordering period extension of 12 months has been issued. If the approach proves insufficient, two additional six months option periods extensions were built into the contract, for a total ordering period extension of up to 24 months.
