Description

The Department of Veteran Affairs, Iowa City, IA, intends to negotiate a sole source procurement under the authority FAR 6.302-3 with the University of Iowa for the period of 10/1/2017 to 1/31/2018 for The University of Iowa will provide necessary labor and materials to conduct experiments to test the efficacy of (-)-P7C3-S243 and other improved analogs in preclinical rodent models of ALS and identify activators of the NAMPT enzyme with improved potency, efficacy and drug-like properties based on the P7C3 scaffold. The University of Iowa will provide expertise in conducting experiments that test the efficacy of (-)-P7C3-S243 and other improved analogs in preclinical rodent models of ALS. The University of Iowa has the specific expertise needed to identify activators of the NAMPT enzyme with improved potency, efficacy and drug-like properties based on the P7C3 scaffold. The work cannot be conducted without utilizing the University of Iowa. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Request for quotes 36C26318Q0338 for above requirement, NAICS 611310, size standard $33.5 million will be issued on 10/1/2017. The deadline to submit a quote is 9/20/2017.
