Description
The purpose of this project is the demolition of the following facilities at SUBASE New London: 1. Building 548 (Fuel Operations Facility, Approx. 640 sf) 2. Facility 548A (Fuel Load/unload Facility) with two outlets 3. OT14 (Oily Waste Tank, underground) Capacity-6K Gal, DOUBLE WALLED FIBERGLASS TANK WITH CATHODICALLY PROTECTED SINGLE WALLED STEEL PIPING 4. OT15 (Defuel Tank, underground) Capacity -25K Gal, DOUBLE WALLED FIBERGLASS TANK WITH CATHODICALLY PROTECTED SINGLE WALLED STEEL PIPING 5. OT16 (Defuel Tank, underground) Capacity “ 25K Gal, DOUBLE WALLED FIBERGLASS TANK WITH CATHODICALLY PROTECTED SINGLE WALLED STEEL PIPING 6. OWS2 (Oily Water Separator #2) Capacity -2K-Gal Total square footage of space to be demolished at Subase NLON = Approx. 640 SF of Building Remove hazardous materials prior to demolition. Remove/Cut/Cap utilities and reroute utilities as required to ensure continuity of utility services to buildings that are not being demolished. For water lines and sewer lines, remove lines that are no longer required back to the service main so that no dead ends are left in the ground. Remove all the aforementioned underground tanks. These tanks are empty and the piping is drained. Remove existing retaining wall and fence on the south and west side of the B548. Provide design for site restoration after demolition; site restoration will be: 1. Grading of the site to blend with the surrounding area and proposed grading for B20 site. B20 is demolished and the site area is to be graded to blend with the surrounding area. The final product shall result into a single paved area that will be accessible for parking from East or West side of the site. 2. Placement of asphalt pavement and markings.
