Page 1 of 1 The Department of Veteran Affairs, Iowa City, IA, intends to negotiate a sole source procurement under the authority FAR 6.302-3 with the University of Iowa for the period of 3/1/2018 2/28/2019 for a contract to assist in all studies involving mice and the collection of in vivo data (stress tests, ocular computer tomography, pERG etc). Also, carry out the molecular biology work related to the cloning of factors inducing the differentiation of iPSC-TM. The University of Iowa, Department of Ophthalmology, has the specialized equipment available and experienced personnel to perform the work at the Iowa City VA Health Care System. It is necessary to use the services of the University of Iowa to meet the VA merit review #C1481-R, entitled "Therapy of Nocturnal Intraocular Pressure Elevation Causing Glaucoma Progression," Principal Investigator: Markus Kuehn, PhD. With the proximity of the University of Iowa and the strong collaboration with the VA investigators, there's a lot of overlap in research procedures and equipment. The use of the University of Iowa is integral to the success of the project. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Request for quotes 36C26318Q0386 for above requirement, NAICS 611310, size standard $33.5 million will be issued on 3/1/2018. The deadline to submit a quote is 2/16/2018.
