URPOSE/DESCRIPTION The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capability, and experience to meet qualification requirements for the re-manufacturing/repair of the C-5 Main Landing Gear,Trunnion Bearings. Our acquisition strategy is a five-year contract (A basic year plus four ordering periods) and will begin 24 Sep 2019 (to cover FY20) and continue through 23 Sep 2024 ( FY24). The best estimated quantities (BEQs) will be From: 48 ea. To: 56 Ea. depending on the year of the requirement. The majority of the BEQs in this follow-on contract are forecasted to be 48 Ea. per year to support an average of six C-5 programmed depot maintenance (PDM) aircraft per year. The Air Force has a requirement for a depot-level re-manufacturing effort for the C-5 Trunnion Bearing. This item is a large, plain self-aligning, spherical bearing. It is the main pivot bearing used during the retraction and extension of the C-5 Main Landing Gear. The anticipated re-manufacturing service will provide serviceable assets to meet quarterly demand for Air Force field level and C-5 Programmed Depot Maintenace (PDM).
