- Description
- This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The Government intends to award a fixed price purchase order to Wilson Wolf Manufacturing Corp., New Brighton, MN 55112. The Department of Transfusion (DTM) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center (CC), Bethesda, MD has a requirement to procure the supplies listed below: Primary Items sought: Quantity Description Catalog No. 100 G-Rex500M-CS Gas Permeable Cell 85500S-CS Culture Device The Cell Processing Section (CPS) of DTM provides cellular therapeutics to support the treatment of patients in the NIH Clinical Center. T-cell Receptor (TCR) transduced T-cells have demonstrated the ability to treat malignant tumors. To date, specific TCR's endowed with enhanced therapeutic potential have been identified for the treatment of malignancies; however, these cells cannot be grown to achieve therapeutic use by conventional methods. Using the Grex culture flask supplied by Wilson Wolf, we can now readily grow sufficient quantities of these cells for therapeutic purposes. The GatheRex pump which we are requesting is the only system compatible with the Grex culture flasks and allows for the concentration and harvesting of the T-cells at the end of culture. Wilson Wolf GatheRex system is currently the only known system that can provide these quality cells for our cellular manufacturing. This item is needed for the processing of E6 and E7 clinical cellular cultures. This item is specific to these protocols and has already been initiated and validated using this device. If we do not get this item from this company, NIH will spend time and money finding a compatible replacement. During this time, ongoing clinical trials could be subject to a hiatus. At this current time, it is not practicable to solicit offers for this requirement as this testing has been validated for our Cell Processing Section and there is no other supplier for this product.
