Amendment issued to address question from prospective vendor. Question 1: ATTACHMENT B - PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT A.       SUMMARY OF WORK:                       i.                   The Contractor shall raise/lower, realign, reset, backfill, and clean flat markers at the Cemetery in a manner that shall meet or exceed the requirements to present a clean, neat, professional, and aesthetic flat-marker appearance and in accordance with Contract Specifications.   Services include, but are not limited to work consisting of extracting, resetting, aligning, backfilling, and compacting flat markers that are already in place which have shifted out of vertical and/or horizontal alignment and plumb, as well as inventorying and ensuring accurate placement on each gravesite.                   ii.         The Contractor shall remove and restore Cemetery turfgrass in designated burial sections, which includes, but is not limited to: killing and removing existing turfgrass, rototilling the existing topsoil, adding or removing topsoil to establish a new finish grade, installing new turfgrass sod, and establishing new turfgrass sod, preservation of existing cemetery features (lawns, paving, roads, stones and markers). In designated burial sections (as annotated on the Site Plan) the Contractor shall remove the top six inches of soil and import and grade six inches of clean topsoil after turf removal but prior to new turf installation; and in one burial section the Contractor shall not remove existing soil but shall still be required to import and grade new topsoil.   Will the 6 inches of soil being removed and imported 6 inches of soil be in all area of Sections J, K, K1, and K2 (447,149 sf)? Answer 1: For these sections the requirement will be:  killing and removing existing turfgrass, rototilling the existing topsoil, adding or removing topsoil to establish a new finish grade.   The topsoil that need to be added, shall have the following specifications: The planting topsoil shall be a loam, sandy loam, clay loam, silt loam, sandy clay loam, and/or loamy sand conforming to ASTM  D  5268 Topsoil, with pH range of 5.5 to 8.5, a minimum of 4 percent organic material content and a maximum of 20% organic material content; free of weed seeds, noxious weeds, invasive plants, stones 1 inch or larger in any dimension, foreign matter and other extraneous materials harmful to plant growth, including, but not limited to roots, plants, sod, stones, and clay lumps. Topsoil shall not be infested with nematodes, grubs, other pests, pest eggs, or other undesirable organisms and disease-causing plant pathogens. Topsoil shall be friable and with sufficient structure to give good tilth and aeration.   Continuous, air-filled, pore-space content on a volume/volume basis shall be at least 15 percent when moisture is present at field capacity.   Soil shall have a field capacity of at least 15 percent on a dry weight basis.
