- Description
- Research Area of interest PWS The Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship (MAPS) Program is a continental-scale land bird monitoring effort. All MAPS monitoring must be coordinated through The Institute for Bird Populations (IBP) and entered into their established database. The MAPS database is the most extensive database on land bird demographics in North America and represents an invaluable scientific resource of immense conservation potential. These data are used and compared among military installations in addition to private and other public lands. In addition, long-term monitoring of population density, when used in conjunction with demographics, can give a detailed picture of the full annual cycle dynamics of landbird populations. See attached PWS for additional details.
