Description
1. Please provide detailed specifications of the type of vent tubing you require, provide more detailed description and part number. Answer: Per the PWS, paragraph 1.1.6. Dryers "All dryers must be installed with flexible aluminum vents." This is a performance based commercial contract; we do not provide gov't specs/part numbers. It is up to the contractors to use their expertise when providing the flexible dryer vents. 2. Please provide the number floors in each building where there are vents to be cleaned and the number and model of dryers on each floor. for example single dryers, stack dryers, combo washer/dryer. Answer: Appendix A lists the types of dryers used in each building. The model of dryers used is up to the contractor as they are providing the machines. The number of floors per building is not readily available. To obtain this information would take considerable time and will delay the award process. 3. Please provide the distance from the back of each dryer to the outside exhaust vent. Please provide the number of turns in the vent system inside the walls or celling that run from the back of each dryer to the outside exhaust vent. Answer: The distance of the internal venting system is not available. To obtain this information, the "as builts" would have to be reviewed, if available. This would add considerable time to the award process. 4. Please provide the number of booster fans located in the dryer vent system in each floor. Answer: Information unavailable and not required. 5. Please provide information about booster fan filters and if they are to be cleaned/replaced Answer: Please refer to the PWS, this is not part of the requirement. 6. Please provide which dryer vents empty the dryer exhaust on the roof of the building Answer: Information unavailable without considerable research and visits to each building. 7. May the new contractor receive the daily repair service calls via e-mail or fax? Answer: Yes, Just as stated in the SOW 1.1.9 the service tickets will be picked up from the COR and completed within 48 hours and returned as submitted. 8. Appendix states there are "approximately 1,030 dryers..." Since stack dryers require 2 cords per dryer, there are approximately 1,415 dryers on FSH. Answer: Appendix A gives the correct numbers of Dryers both single and stackable. Each machines will require the necessary equipment to be operational. Stackable Dryers will requires two dryer cords. Follow the numbers in the Contract submittal.
