Description

SLAC is seeking a supplier of one mechanical systems as part of the L2S-I program. The system is composed of two main parts: An optics assembly (with optics holder and cooling) designed and realized by the supplier. The vacuum chamber and mover system (including all motions, motors, encoders and supports) to be designed and provided by the supplier. The system has to be UHV compatible, hosting a 1 m long mirror and four 240 mm long gratings (with their holders and cooling), and provide pointing stability of each optic better than 25 nrad rms. The Vendor is responsible for providing complete, tested systems and mechanics, delivered safely to SLAC, and to participate in the installation of the system in its final location. The Vendor is responsible for performing all necessary tests, to guarantee that all specifications and requirements are met. The Vendor is responsible for providing all necessary documentation to the SLAC team, to enable future connection, installation, and operation of the monochromator, and to maintain it at its specified performance. Angular motion as large as 20 mrad for the mirror and 35 mrad for the gratings, with 25 nrad steps is required. Transverse motion large enough to move between four 50mm wide gratings (including cooling and holders) with 0.01 mm steps is required. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE.
