Description
Network Contracting Office 21 intends to issue an Request For Proposal (RFP) to award a single, firm-fixed-price contract for Project 570-18-412, Design/Build MRI Suite, 2nd Floor. All construction must be in strict compliance with applicable codes, VA policies and standards as to be specified in bid documents. The contractor shall provide all tools, travel, trades, labor, materials, permits, licenses and supervision for complete construction services per specifications and drawings. Project 570-18-412 consists of work at located at 2615 E. Clinton Ave., Fresno, CA 93703-2223. The intent of the project is to design and build (remodel) a portion of the 2nd Floor, Building 1, MRI scanner suite to accommodate a new scanner located at the VA Central California Health Care System, Fresno Campus. The basis of project scope shall include scope encompasses the design and construction of a new MRI suite to include one (1) new MRI suite, (1) Mechanical Room, one (1) Control Room, and one (1) Patient Changing. The remodeled MRI suite shall meet industry and regulatory standards for ventilation/exhaust of rooms, radiation shielding, shielded and enclosed control room, mechanical and utility connections. This contract will require a general contractor with experience in hospital and health care environment construction. The general description of work includes, but is not limited to; selective demolition of building components, above ground and underground utilities, infrastructure, and site components, relocation of building components, and site components as well as new hospital/clinic construction. The contractor shall provide protection of all existing site infrastructure, building components and utilities that are not identified for demolition. Contractor shall replace or repair all existing infrastructure, components and utilities impacted during construction activities. The period of performance is 300 calendar days from issuance of Notice To Proceed. The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be available at www.fbo.gov. Amendments to the solicitation will also be posted on this website. All parties must obtain solicitation documents and amendments to the solicitation through this website. Hard copies will not be mailed. It is the responsibility of all bidders to frequently check the website for all notices, amendments, etc., regarding this solicitation. The Government will not be responsible for any notification not sent or received by the bidder regarding the solicitation. The contract will be awarded in accordance with the procedures specified in the solicitation. The solicitation will be issued as an RFP conducted in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 15 Contracting By Negotiation. This project shall be solicited as total-service-disabled-small-business (SDVOSB) set-aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this project is 236220, with a small business size standard of $36.5 million. The Government is under no obligation to issue a solicitation as a result of this notice. No other information is available until issuance of the solicitation. The magnitude of construction is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
