Description
This Special Notice/Request for Information is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), headquartered at Fort Detrick, Maryland, or the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR), located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The USAISR is part of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command. The USAISR is dedicated to both laboratory and clinical trauma research. Its mission is to provide combat casualty care medical solutions and products for wounded warriors, from self-aid through definitive care across the full spectrum of military operations; provide state-of-the-art trauma, burn, and critical care to Department of Defense beneficiaries and civilians; and provides Burn Flight Teams. The USAISR does this through three unique missions: (1) To provide requirements driven innovations in combat casualty care and advance medical care for injured services members; (2) as the only Burn Center in the DoD provide state of the art burn, trauma and critical care to injured war fighters and DoD beneficiaries around the world; (3) through the Joint Trauma System, provide a performance improvement system dedicated to ensuring that medical care is organized according to the needs of the patient. is to provide requirements-driven combat casualty care medical solutions and products for injured soldiers from self-aid through definitive care across the full spectrum of military operations; provide state-of-the-art trauma, bum, and critical care to Department of Defense beneficiaries around the world and civilians in our trauma region; and provide Burn Special Medical Augmentation Response Teams. PURPOSE: USAISR researchers wish to coordinate a demonstration of state-of-the-art mobile C-arm units for use by the USAISR's Endovascular Hemorrhage Control task area. This demonstration will allow USAISR researchers to determine how C-arms that are designed for imaging 75+ kg human patients will perform when imaging a 40-45 kg pig which will be the animal model in future studies. USAISR staff will provide an anesthetized pig which vendors will image and demonstrate their respective C-arm units, both with and without contrast, to researchers and the vascular surgeon consultant. The demonstration will take place at the following location on Tuesday-Thursday, April 10-12, 2018, 2018: U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research 3698 Chambers Pass, Bldg. 3611 Fort Sam Houston, TX 78234 Access to Fort Sam Houston/SAMMC Campus is controlled. Please coordinate access requests through the Contract Specialist. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Response to this notice is voluntary and is not required in order to respond to a subsequent solicitation (if any) on this topic. The U.S. Government will not provide reimbursement for any costs incurred by the respondent in providing this product demonstration. Respondents are advised that USAMRAA/USAISR are under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted under this RFI. Information obtained by the Government will be held confidential to the extent permitted under applicable laws and regulations. Any proprietary, non-public information should be marked so.
