- The Army Contracting Command-Rock Island (ACC-RI) is conducting market research regarding the purchase of two Varex M6A Linear Accelerators with accessories or products that are equivalent to support McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. Request responses to the following questions be provided NLT 3:00 p.m. Central Time, 30 Mar 18 to email address sheila.k.peters2.civ@mail. 1. What product are you offering and is it manufactured in the United States? If it is not manufactured in the United States, do you have a distributor in the United States? If so, please provide their name and address. 2. Do you have qualified technicians who are able to respond to repair requests within 8 hours? If not, when can they respond? 3. Can spare parts be provided within 8 hours after notice is provided? 4. Does your company use a manufacturing technique that has an extended brazed target? If not, what manufacturing technique is used? 5. Does your equipment have connectivity with flat panel detectors which allows external triggers to be accepted from various flat panel detectors including Varex and PKI? 6. Does your equipment have an install base of over 1400 Linatrons? 7. How many years will your company provide a guarantee on availability of parts and service for a new machine? 8. Does your company have a manufacturing technique using a line type modulator for Non Destructive Testing (NDT) applications? 9. What are the dimensions of the x-ray head on the linear accelerator that your company can provide? Please include width, height, and length. Also, request you provide the weight. PREVIOUS NOTICE: This notice is in support of market research performed by Army Contracting Command - Rock Island to determine interest and capability to provide two each replacement M6A linear accelerators with two each compatible system accessory packages for McAlester Army Ammunition Plant (MCAAP) in McAlester, Oklahoma. MCAAP will use the accelerators for radiographic inspection. The accessory packages are required so that the accelerators can be fully operational. The replacement equipment will be fabricated, constructed, installed, and integrated into the existing MCAAP radiographic inspection facility. Contractors will be responsible for installation of delivered equipment and provide training on its use. The NAICS code is 334517 with a size standard of 1000 employees. This Notice is for planning purposes only and shall not be considered as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market research or otherwise pay for information solicited. The Government will utilize the information provided for information and/or planning purposes and to identify potential sources as part of its market research. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this notice. Responses to the notice will not be returned.
