Description

FAR CLAUSES SOW JOTFOC Description: The United States Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Centers, Ice Breaker & Buoy Tender Branch 2, Oakland, CA anticipates awarding sole source procurement to MICHELL BEARINGS SYSTEMS AMERICA for the following service: 1. 05 Days to provide inspection, assessment, fitment and alignment of the propulsion and shafts onboard CGC ALEX HALEY to correct premature wear in the port and starboard line shaft bearings. 2. Refurbish Port and Starboard line shaft journal bearing sets IAW SOW CCC 18006 192123 The current Michell line shaft bearings are designed, manufactured, and supported by Michell Bearings (OEM). Due to proprietary technical information, installation procedures for the system, and other intellectual property considerations, Michell Bearings is the only company that can perform this work. This procurement will be made on behalf of the USCGC ALEX HALLEY Vendor will provide all the parts listed above. NAICS Code # 336611 applies to this procurement. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. No solicitation will be issued, however all responses received on 1200 PST Apr 09th 2018 will be reviewed by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All questions concerning this notice must be submitted in writing the Contracting Officer, email address is: Mayra.c.centurion@uscg.mil. The solicitation is restricted to: Michell Bearing Systems America. Offers from concerns other than the above are not solicited. If no affirmative responses are received by the date specified above to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, a purchase order will be negotiated and awarded to Michell Bearing Systems America.
