Description

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for purchase twelve (12) each, WR1.5ZBD - Zero-Bias Detector (575-750 GHz) Circuit. Consists of VDI ZBD diode chip soldered to passive circuit. To be mounted into waveguide channel by NGC for use in 670GHz receiver. Also purchasing eight (8) WR2.8ZBD - Zero-Bias Detector (200-240 GHz) Circuit - Custom. Consists of VDI ZBD diode chip soldered to passive circuit. To be mounted into waveguide channel by NGC for use in 220GHz receiver. The WR1.5ZBD has Typical Performance in VDI housing: Responsivity 750V/W, NEP~ 5.1 pW/Hz^1/2 Flanges: WR1.5 UG387/UM, 2.9mm(f). The WR2.8ZBD has Typical Performance in VDI housing: Responsivity 1500V/W, NEP~ 4 pW/Hz^1/2. > NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to Virginia Diodes, Inc. under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). Competition is impractical as no other zero bias diode technology was found that operate at the required frequency. > NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Shipping address is NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center, 8800 Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt, MD 20771. > The Government intends to acquire commercial items and services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13. > The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334419. > Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort by email to Dorothy.s.baskin@nasa.gov not later than 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time on Saturday, April 14th, 2018. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. > Oral communications ARE NOT acceptable in response to this notice. > NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
