- Description
- Solicitation for Maritime Administration (MARAD) requires supplies The United States Department of Transportation's Maritime Administration (MARAD) requires supplies and service for providing shipboard chemical treatment of various shipboard systems. Contractor shall provide implementation of a Fleet-wide, Shipboard Water Chemistry Treatment Program to include all services, products, materials, resources and perform all management, administrative, supervisory, operational functions and field service surveys. Additionally, the Contractor shall provide the necessary support for the Fleet-wide, Shipboard Water Chemistry Treatment Program onboard oceangoing cargo vessels with marine steam, diesel or gas turbine propulsion systems, cooling water systems and evaporators or other fresh water generating equipment. The Government is contracting not only for specific products and services, but also for the delivery of these products and services, both within the continental United States and at ports worldwide, within specific time constraints defined by the contract. The Contractor shall provide products and services, with the possibility of worldwide basis, for MARAD ships, and for other government owned assets, as directed by MARAD. Service under the scope of this contract includes engineering support services (e.g. service calls, training, laboratory analysis), technical evaluation, and troubleshooting services. The Contractor agrees to deliver the supplies and services set forth in this Contract when ordered by the Government or Ship Managers in accordance with the Contract terms and conditions. The Contractor's program shall become operational within thirty (30) days after contract "Notice to Proceed (NTP)". The Contractor must be on twenty-four (24) hour call, seven (7) days per week, with individual(s) responsible for receiving, processing, delivering all approved requests (verbal, electronically or written/facsimile) for services and products. All chemical compounds, reagents and services shall be available for delivery to any U.S. commercial port within seventy-two (72) hours or any foreign commercial port within one hundred twenty (120) hours of receipt of a valid request. The Contractor will be responsible for the preparation and filing of any export shipping documentation and payments of any custom duties and fees. Unless otherwise directed, all products and services shall be delivered "on-board the vessel" and signed for as being "received" by a representative of the Ship Manager; either his port engineer or the vessel's Chief Engineer.
