- Description
- This is a pre-solicitation notice pursuant to FAR 36.213-2. The United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) plans to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for an Crowninshield/Cressy Pier and the Seawall Construction projects. The work shall be performed at the USMMA, 300 Steamboat Road, Kings Point, NY (NASSAU COUNTY). The magnitude of the project is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. This is a Total Small Business set-aside. The applicable NAICS code is 237990 Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction. The small business size standard is $36.5 Million A bid bond is required in the amount of 20% of the bid price. The Miller Act is applicable and payment and performance bonds in a penal amount equal to 100% of the contract price and any increases are required. The period of performance is 365 calendar days. Upon release to the general public, the IFB as well as any amendments will be available to the public at Federal Business Opportunities website ( https://www.fbo.gov ). The Statement of Work with drawings will also be available at no charge at the Federal Business Opportunities website ( https://www.fbo.gov ). No paper copies will be mailed. Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be TBD but on or about May 17, 2018, with bids due by 12:00 PM on July 13, 2018, with a public bid opening at 2:00 PM on July 13, 2018. A site visit/pre-bid conference is tentatively scheduled for June 6, 2018. Final dates and times will be specified in the IFB. All bidders must be registered with an "active" profile in the System for Award Management (SAM) in order to be eligible to receive an award from any Government solicitation; the SAM website is www.SAM.gov. It is the bidder's responsibility to check www.fbo.gov as often as necessary to view posted changes to this synopsis and/or updates/amendments. Questions, inquiries or requests for information (RFI) should be sent by e-mail to judy.bowers@dot.gov by June 20, 2018 and the government will make a reasonable attempt to answer by June 29, 2018. For questions, inquiries or requests for information (RFI) received after June 29, 2018, the government will make a reasonable attempt to answer prior to the bid opening date. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted.
