Description
The following questions were asked regarding Tenkiller Erosion Repair Solicitation W912BV18R0037; the answers follow each question in bold. All other terms and conditions of the solicitation remain in effect and unchanged. Would native, natural ungraded river rock taken from an Oklahoma Department of Mines permitted mine located downriver of the project site be an acceptable substitute for the ¾" round river rock? It would be a perfect match to what is on the site now The 3/4 round river rock, the description of this is stated in section 10.1 of the solicitation. It is the Governments intent to restore the parking areas with the same type or kind of round river rock that will match the existing rock. The existing round river rock varies in sizes, it is not all 3/4 inch. If the contractor can provide the same round rock material as is there now, that would be acceptable. Paragraph 10.1Construction Method shows only 3/4" river rock. Is there a more definitive spec on the river rock? Specifically, allowable fines %?, clean or washed? The round river rock material shall match the existing round rock material. It varies in sizes, and the new stone material shall be clean and free of fine. Is the indicated size correct? It appears the existing stone is much larger nominally, and larger river rock stone placed in eroded areas would blend in better with the existing stones as much as possible. The indicated size of the new material is stated as 3/4 inch. Larger round rock is present in the area as well and would be considered acceptable. Are there measurements on how far off the water the rip-rap needs to be up the bank? The placement of Rip-Rap should not exceed the approximate area stated in section 10. #6. Does the Corps want a design or anything specifically done with the rip-rap placement or is this not really for looks just structural? Area of placement of Rip-Rap is for bank stabilization and erosion control. See photograph 6 (Section 6). Do we have to supply a number for each section or did they just want to show each area on the map? The map was to indicate the most affected areas by the flood event and are there for reference only. All L-W-D stated in section 10. are approximate.
