- Description
- Milwaukee VA requires the purchase of Digital Image Correlation (DIC) System to support Biological Materials Testing to Assist Computational Modeling Validation and Materials Definitions project. This equipment will be used in support of ongoing research programs and to enhance and extend research at the Milwaukee VA. These efforts will require a DIC system capable of capturing the displacement and strain distributions of high speed events under a simulated military environment. The contractor will provide a DIC system that includes the DIC software license, ISO 9001 calibration objects, IDT camera holders, stands for static camera mounting and stabilizing the sensor during calibration, holders for calibration objects, and Level 1 training. This is a sources sought synopsis only. The DIC system must have simultaneous strain measurement and 3-D point tracking. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (large business, small business, 8(a), SDVOSB, etc.), relative to NAICS code 334516. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Based on responses to this synopsis, the Government may issue this RFQ as a Brand Name or Equal requirement in accordance with VAAR Clause 852.211-73 on eBuy or Fed Biz Ops. Estimated Performance Period: 90 Days ARO Type of Contract: Firm Fixed Price This notice is not a request for competitive proposals, however; any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Tuesday, May 1, 2018, 4:00 PM, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Elaine DiBucci at elaine.dibucci@va.gov and should include company name, address, point of contact, business size, and product information. No telephone responses will be accepted. This notice is to assist the Government in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued, all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement.
