Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes. It does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the Navy is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) Website. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor this site for additional information pertaining to this requirement. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Naval Air Warfare Center Lakehurst NJ (NAWCADLKE) is requesting information from industry in order to identify qualified vendors interested in supplying the Government three (3) each F-35 simulated active stick and three (3) simulated back-driven throttle control units for the F-35 Joint Simulation Environment (JSE). These stick and throttle units must be identical to those currently in use in the JSE, Simulated Sticks, Part Number (P/N) 032A000-001and Simulated Throttles, P/N 033A000-001 manufactured by Stirling Dynamics as they are required for use as spares when current units are unavailable. They must also accurately match the mechanical geometry, interfaces and force-feedback characteristics of the F-35 aircraft. Only the Stirling Dynamics stick and throttle units are known to the Government to accurately match the characteristics of the units installed in the F-35 aircraft, provide force-feedback control, and provide proper replication of the accurate pilot interface and work-loading required by the JSE program. Respondents to this RFI should provide the following: -Technical and experience information on their ability to provide the parts list above -Identification of business size, specifically, small business size status (i.e. Small Business, Hubzone, 8(a), SDVOSB, etc) The Government does not possess the technical data to manufacture the required hardware. Responses should reference N6833518R0258
