- Description
- This purchase description covers the requirements for stand-up rider, EE Safety Rated, electric powered, reach and tiering type forklift trucks for use on Navy ships. The forklift trucks, hereinafter referred as truck, shall be used for handling weapons and ammunition in and around the salt air environment including both tight confines of shipboard magazines, storerooms and cargo holds and occasional outdoor/ on-deck operations. This document shall be used in conjunction with Testing Requirement, NAVSUP WSS TE-59493. This document shall be used in conjunction with Purchase Description, NAVSUP WSS PD-59493 and shall include the inspections, demonstrations and tests identified in Table I of this document. NAVSUP WSS is conducting market research for the attached item to determine an acquisition strategy and what your industry will be capable of providing with respect to the required item. For this reason, NAVSUP WSS would appreciate your firm sharing your expertise and insight into how these items can be most efficiently procured. NAVSUP WSS anticipates issuing a solicitation for the referenced item under an Indefinite Quantity Contract. The contract may be for a term of one year up to five years. Further, it may contain an option to extend the term of the contract. If an option to extend the term of the contract provision is included in the solicitation, each option term would be one year. However, the total contract term will not exceed five years. It should be noted that this inquiry, in no way, should be interpreted as a solicitation for offers. No information provided in response to this inquiry will be considered binding between the vendor and the Government. With these facts in mind, it is requested that you review the attached documents and provide a capability statement or statement of interest. Also, if your interest or capability is based on a commercially available model, please provide the manufacturer and model number. Any information provided will remain confidential.
