- Question: Page 8 of the drawings - Will the USFS be willing to accept 2x2x4' (world block brand forms) that is more commonly used in Southeast Alaska? Geogrid can be used to tie them back. Answer: Bid per solicitation. After award, the contractor may submit an alternate retaining wall design under FAR clause XYZ [Value Engineering or Modification or other?]. Any alternate retaining wall needs to be designed by a Professional Engineer with current registration in Alaska. The alternate design and construction is the responsibility of the contractor.
