Description

SSJ Statement of Work The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to SOUTHERN CROSSROADS. Southern Crossroads (SoX) is the only available connection point for Internet 2 that does not require extending tbe CDC network to a11other State or region. The Southern Crossroads (SoX) Internet 2 connection point at Georgia Tech is the sole provider for Internet 2 connectivity in the Southeastern US. Internet 2 is a proprietary service that is only provided by Southern Crossroads. The Internet 2 network is a high-bandwidth, limited-access network dedicated to Educational and Research facilities and organizations (http://internet2.edu). The Southern Crossroads (SoX) Internet 2 connection point at Georgia Tech is the sole provider for Internet 2 connectivity in the Southeastern US. Internet 2 Network Internet 2 Health Sciences Initiative (http://www.internet2.edu/pubs/200909-JS-HS.p@ Access to high-bandwidth connections without competing commercial (Internet 1) traffic, allowing for collaboration on larger projects: PHIN Grid Computing Cloud Services High Performance Computing (HPC) Groundwater Contamination Simulations Genomics. There are no other Internet 2 connection points in the Southeastern US and Southern Crossroads is the only provider of Internet 2 service. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within seven (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
