- Corrosion Resistant Coating Request for Information Issue Date 1 August 2018 - Closing Date 15 August 2018, Time 2:00 PM EST The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division is conducting a market survey of potential sources who may be interested in the supplying of an organic or inorganic coating or surtace treatment for corrosion resistance. Provided the surface has not become contaminated, there shall be minimal surface preparation required prior to application of the coating. The coating shall have all of the following attributes:  Full performance of coating is achieved at 0.001" coating thickness  Chromium and hexavalent chromium free  Comply with REACH and ROHS requirements (European standards for restricting the use of hazardous products)  Improved wear and abrasion resistance comprared to typical hard chrome coatings  Improved impact resistance comprared to typical hard chrome coatings  Applicable to ferrous alloy substrates  Functional in temperature range of 0°F - 200°F  Resistant to corrosion in humid and saltwater environments The chemical compounds used in this coating shall not contain known or suspected carcinogens. NSWCPD may request further information regarding the capabilities of respondents to meet the requirements and may request a presentation and/or a site visit as deemed necessary. At no cost to the government, the government may request further clarification of a contractor's submission. There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, make an award or awards, or to be responsible for any monies expended by industry responses to this RFI. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities website located at http://www.fbo.gov/.
