Description

This is a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation for Commercial Items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals/quotes are requested, and a written solicitation will not be issued. The USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) - Western Business Service Center (WBSC) intends to award a Firm Fixed Purchase Order (PO) to a responsive Contractor/Vendor that is Lowest Price Technically Acceptable and can provide a TITRATION SYSTEM (AUTO-TITRATOR) in support of the ongoing research at USDA ARS, Tree Fruit Research Laboratory, Wenatchee, WA 98801. USDA ARS, Wenatchee Tree Fruit Research Laboratory requires a Titrator (Auto-Titrator) for their research to determine acidity (pH) as well as the amount of acid in fruit juice samples. The resulted data is required to assess apple, pear and sweet cherry fruit quality which is part of their mission of the Physiology and Pathology of Tree Fruits Research Unit in Wenatchee, WA. Thus, automating the process by using an autosampler increases sample throughput and frees up technician time for other tasks. Also, this Titrator will be replacing their USDA-owned Radiometer (obsolete instrument), which is no longer supported by the manufacturer that does not have software that is compatible with Windows 10 as mandated by ARS. The Titrator must also be compatible with Mettler-Toledo (MT) balances (scales) and other MT components.
