Description
Notice of Intent to Sole Source: Lutonix Drug Coated Balloon PTA Catheter The Department of Veterans SAO West, Network Contracting Office 19, located at 6162 South Willow Drive Suite 300, Greenwood Village, CO 80111 intends to enter into sole source purchase order, authorized by FAR 13.106- 1(b), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), the Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed-price purchase order to the large business manufacturer, Bard Peripheral Vascular, Inc., located at 1625 W 3rd St., Tempe, Arizona 85281. The associated North America Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 339113 and the Business Size Standard is 750 employees. The contractor shall provide the Lutonix 035 Drug Coated Balloon PTA Catheters, a transluminal balloon used for percutaneous transluminal angioplasty on Veterans being treated at Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center (RMRVAMC) in Aurora, Colorado. The Lutonix Catheters from Bard Peripheral Vascular, Inc. are the first (and only) drug coated balloon approved for use in dysfunctional/stenosed dialysis fistulae. This product offers the largest coverage with balloon sizes not offered by any competitors, as well as the longest drug coated balloon on the U.S. market. The product is designed to minimize the size of the access site, while maintaining an ease-of-use characteristic to re-expand/re-open blood vessels for better long-term results without the use of a stent. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotes. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the U.S. Government. Interested persons may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, Tuesday, August 14th, 2018. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to meet the subject requirement. This information shall be provided at no cost or obligation to the Government.
