Description
SOLICATIONS Q&A The following questions were submitted by vendors.   Answers provided by service line. Q1:   What is the Make, Model and Serial Number on the portable 40kw genset at the uptown VA? A1: Make: Whisperwatt Model: DCA-70SSIU2 Serial Number: 7351278 Q2:  What are the correct serial #s for the two Mitsubishi gensets at the uptown VA, as they both have the same serial number listed? A2: GEN#1: 3491433-2 GEN#2: 3491433-1 Q3:   Because of the age of the current back-up generators, in some cases there may be a delay in replacement parts and in other cases replacement parts may not be available at all. Please advise  us on how to handle this situation if it presents itself? A3:  Due to the nature of the importance of the back-up generators all repairs will be considered emergency repairs and where parts and materials would be needed must be acquired or manufactured as soon as is feasibly possible. Each incident of required repairs will be evaluated at the time of the incident. Q4:   New back-up generators are being designed and will be installed in the near future.  How will this affect contract and option years?   Will there be a Modification to contract to switch to new backup generator maintenance? A4: After the installation of the new generators are completed a modification to the existing contract will be submitted to add the new generators to the maintenance contract. Q5:   Under section 12(b.) reads, any operating supplies necessary to preform service or repairs will be provided by the contractor at no cost to the Government.  Question,  is the term repairs relating to PM only or other non- PM issues, and will this be covered as identified in section B.3 Price/Cost schedule which designates $12,000.00 per qtr. for repairs? A5: This pertains to PM materials and parts, if it does not pertain to PM it will be funded under the $12,00.0 per qtr. for repair funds. Q6:   Section B.3 Price Cost schedule covers repairs considered to be minor to moderate in nature. What is considered minor to moderate repairs, please provide an example for clarification? Also provide an example of a major repair item. A6: Minor repair would be any repair were parts and labor are less than $2,500.00(example replace water pump) and a major repair would be any repair were parts and labor exceed $2,500.00(example: replace head and pan gaskets). Q7:     Section 8(a.) Parts: Reads contractor will maintain a sufficient stock of all parts needed for repair and maintenance of equipment or be able to secure needed parts within one calendar day.  Is this for PM related issues only? A7: Yes, this is in reference to PM parts and materials, any other repairs will be looked at on a case by case basis. Q8: Previous contract information?
